By · Last updated October 30, 2026

How widely results swing around the average. In crash games you choose it with your cash-out target: low targets give small, frequent wins; high targets give rare, large ones.

Why it matters

Matching volatility to your bankroll decides how long a session lasts.

In practice

In a slot, volatility is fixed by the designer. In a crash game you pick it every bet: cashing out at 1.2x is about as low-volatility as casino gaming gets, and chasing 100x is about as high. The house edge stays the same whichever you choose.

Example

1.2x is low volatility; 50x is very high.
