Bankroll management for crash games
Bankroll management is the part of crash game strategy you fully control, and it underpins every system in our strategy pillar. It decides how long your money lasts and how likely a session is to end in a wipe-out.
The worked plan
| Step | Example |
|---|---|
| Monthly entertainment budget | $200 |
| Sessions per month | 4 |
| Session bankroll | $50 |
| Unit (2%) | $1 |
| Stop-loss | −$25 (end session) |
| Stop-win | +$25 (bank it, end session) |
At $1 per round and a 3% edge, the expected cost is about $0.03 per round, roughly $3 per 100 rounds. The stop rules stop a bad run, or an unusually good one, from turning into a marathon.
Why bet size beats system choice
In our simulator, flat $10 bets (2% of $500) at 2x never busted over 100 rounds. The same target with Martingale busted half the time, because the bet size escalated from 2% to more than 60% of the bankroll within six losses. The system mattered because it changed the bet size.
Rules worth keeping
- Never top up mid-session. A refill is chasing.
- Keep winnings separate. Moving them back into play means betting money you’d decided to keep.
- Use the operator’s deposit limits. They work even when your willpower doesn’t.
- Track sessions. A note of date, bankroll, result and time shows patterns you won’t notice otherwise.
If gambling stops feeling like entertainment, read our responsible gambling page. Then compare the risk of different bet sizes in the Martingale guide and the fixed auto-cashout guide.

Example: 1000 sessions of 100 rounds, bankroll $500, base bet $10, target 2x, 3% edge
| Strategy | Median final bankroll | Unlucky (10th percentile) | Lucky (90th percentile) | Chance of going bust |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Martingale (double after loss) | $460 | $0 | $1,020 | 46.5% |
| Anti-Martingale (double after win, reset after 3) | $460 | $210 | $720 | 1.1% |
| Fixed bet | $480 | $360 | $600 | 0.0% |
Run it a few times with different settings to find the approach that fits your bankroll and playing style.

Frequently asked questions
How much should I bet in a crash game?
1–2% of your session bankroll per round. With $200 that means $2–$4 bets.
What is a good stop-loss?
Many players end the session at −50% of the session bankroll. The exact figure matters less than deciding it in advance and sticking to it.
